Link Trust = Massive Followings

Link Trust is with out a doubt the most important aspect of your social media marketing efforts. Or whatever you traffic source of choice is.

Link Trust is the amount of value your readers hold in their minds about what they think will be on the other side of that link once they click it. If you are one who always provides great content consistently then people will feel more at ease when clicking on your links.

This is very important because without links, you would never get anywhere on the Internet. And without people trusting your links enough to click on them, you would never make any sales.

You see, link trust must be established before you can convince people to buy something from you. People will always remember when they click through to some great content. They will remember what they read, who wrote it, and where they found it because it left an impact on them.

That should be your goal every time you create some form of content online. Make it so good that when people read it, watch it, or hear it they will always remember you for it.

Now on the other end of the spectrum, if you are one who likes to post a lot of links to their affiliate programs people will soon catch on to exactly what you are trying to do. And will effectively ignore you, block you, or spam you back.

Don't be the spammers. Be the giver, the creator, and the recommender!

If you said link to great content then you are a freakin' natural. You get it.

So here's the secret, but it's more like a rule of thumb.

You want to follow the 90/10 rule. Meaning that 90% of your content that you create should do nothing more than enlighten, entertain, or enrich peoples lives. The other 10% is where you are allowed to promote your own stuff.

Let's take a look at the psychology behind why we do this. People like other people who they feel like they can trust. People also buy things from people they trust. So if you build great link trust from the start, when you finally do link to a capture page or some affiliate page or however you decide to monetize then people will subconsciously know that what you recommend has tremendous value. They click, and buy.

Once you have built up a solid bubble of trust on your social media networks it would be a good idea to keep providing value. Keep following the 90/10 rule.

Keep this in mind as well. The more value and trust you build within peoples minds the more they will click on your links. It's really that simple.

But there is a side effect to producing such great content. As more and more people begin to click on your links because of all the goodies on the other side, word of mouth will begin to spread like a virus. You content will soon have a *buzz* about it. And that is what creates MASSIVE followings.
